in love with the rock

For Sue, Floyd and Brock

After a really nice comment in my guest book I decided to add a 'homesick' page. This page will show shots of the area and people of Pilley's Island. Even if you're not from this area I'm sure some of the shots will remind you why you want to come back home, no matter where you hail from on this great rock. And some of these will remind you of how beautiful winter on Pilley's Island can be..

Around town

Just a drive around town on a gorgeous December day.

Here's a bit of March month around town..

The thaws and freezes have turned ponds into ice rinks.

The big house way in the distance is my dream home! What a spot to have
a business...

Just before this couple walked across the ice at Bumblebee Bite another
lover of winter made an appearance...

I couldn't get the closeup shot I wanted but I was quite
happy to get these shots.

As you can see I was looking almost straight down at this
beautiful fellow..

Spring has sprung...

Coming to the end of March 2007 and some of our days are looking really spring like. Here's some shots from my walk with Gizmo yesterday. You can see him on his own page...

Here's our little boat no worse from wear from the long winter.

There's a coast line now, it's a bit messy but soon I'll be able
to make my way around it again...

Way way over yonder is Laura's house. If not for the floating pieces of ice
you'd almost think it was summer time..
.

The look out at the top of Pilley's Island on a fine April day.

Across the pond on a dismal spring day.

I haven't seen any robins just yet but people hanging out down at the dock is a real good indication of warmer weather on the way...

I'm glad someone's cleaning up the coast line..

We make home brew to celebrate the changing of a season...

Here he is the 'Brew Master' himself...

The end result? The perfect looking glass of brew.  And actually the season doesn't have to change for the master to make his beer, it's just the economical way to go around here...
