in love with the rock

Artwork by Paul

Paul Gammon does not live in Newfoundland, he lives in Ontario- Peterborough to be precise. He's got a page on my web site because he's not only a talented artist he's also my brother. Scroll down to see his stuff.

You'll remember this one from the Yak Shack. Done in dots and I believe done in Africa. Whether it was before he climbed Mt. Kilamanjaro or after I'm not sure.

As well as drawing and painting Paul also does creative blacksmithing so this anvil is a significant piece for him.

These jars are quite out of focus, I did what I could in the editing department and this is the best I could get them.

These could be the same jars all grown up with color now...lol.

I love this store front that he did as a gift for a friend. The lights shining on the sign and canopy really emphasize the importance of light and shadow.

This is a watercolor. The boldness of his style is evident.

For some reason this guy reminds me of a milkman.

Excellent pieces and with any luck after he climbs his next mountain he'll have some more stuff for us. He's building a new studio and below is a before picture, can't wait to see the after...

.

These are about as after as they're going to get.

Paul is heading for Europe. He's decided to take on

a new life, completely! Some lucky home buyer will

enjoy this beautiful gallery, he's selling everything. The good news is, is that he plans to keep painting and creating and he has promised to keep the pics coming.

Good luck Paul, I'll just think of you as on  sabbatical
to fine tune your skills.

NOW FOR SOME METAL ART, THIS STUFF IS BEAUTIFUL!!!

An update on Paul....

Paul conquered his south American mountain and not without some major trials and tribulations. Just an hour from the summit he suffered frost bite on his toes. At the second camp site, his tent nearly burned up because of lit candles. But he reached his goal and is very lucky to still have his toes in tack, although there is some nerve damage and he is constantly aware of an annoying numbness. But he conquered and he survived and  the experience has made it's mark on him. I was somewhat worried that the mind altering changes might have taken him off the artist track, but he blew me away and sent me his very first self portrait. So here you get to meet the man...

The end result, framed by me in Pic Nic....

GREAT WORK PAUL!
