Merrick (if you say it fast enough it sounds more like Mick) Ryan lives on Pilley's Island and is hugely talented. His hand crafted mini dorry's are renowned in this area. What makes his superb craftmanship even more appreciated is the fact that Mr. Ryan has been suffering for years with a crippling form of arthitis in his hands. He perseveres the agony in his fingers and continues to produce these magnificent works of art. I've been told that he earned his living in the woods and my guess is that the woods are in his blood.
