I have 3 cats now, I should still have 4. Some idiot who probably didn't like black cats took Spikes life and threw his body off the road hoping that I wouldn't find him. But I did find him and this page is his tribute. Even now he is still missed and loved by us. I can't bring him back but I will always miss him.

Such a handsome fellow! Proud and majestic. He was loved so much that he simply trusted everybody and had no fear whatsoever.

Our little buddy loved his sisters. He's wrapped around Saucey in this shot.

His grave started out looking like this. A marker, some flowers and rocks.

His mother Spencer visits often and has kept me company frequently while expanding and perfecting what is now Spikes Garden. One of my favorite spots in the backyard of our place/.

This is his sister Saucey also enjoying the area. So far I don't have a picture of Shadow there yet but she too joins me there.

Here she is again showing off her beautiful fox tail.

The garden has lots of little characters in it now, including pigs...lol

Just showing it at different angles now.

Pictures really don't do it justice.

It is such a pretty spot and will look so much prettier next summer when it is full of flowers.

The next picture and the last one today is of Doc. Doc was Spikes brother. Pearce's niece took
him as a kitten and gave him a wonderful home right across the road from us. Doc left home on Sept.5/08
and simply disappeared. We all fear the worst I'm afraid and since he still hasn't returned we're pretty
sure he won't. He is missed every bit as much as Spike is. So I made a Rock for Doc and he sits to the
right and just behind the old pump at the foot of Spikes grave. We may never know what happened to
Doc but if he was prey to some animal then we hope he rests in peace. If he hooked up with a new family
then we hope they are as good to him as his other family was.

So that's it for my tribute not just for Spike but for the two brothers. Until next year when the
garden is in bloom there won't be any more pictures here.

A day in Oct. 2008

While walking Gizmo and my 3 girls on a beautiful Oct. day, a bright splash of color caught my eye off the side of the road where Spike was hit. The first picture shows the birch tree that marks the spot where Spike was killed from the road. The second picture concentrates on the flowers at the base of that tree. My neighbours are avid gardeners and every fall they pull out the flowers and discard them in the bushes. It was pure coincidence that they landed on the exact spot where I found Spikes body, but I felt quite moved by the site and decided to take a couple of shots.

I guess you really have to love your pet to

appreciate why I post these pictures.

Summer 2009

Here are pictures of Spike's garden this summer. Every time I turn around I find some whimsical item to add to the magic of 'His' special spot. Along with all the garden ornaments, beautiful flowers and unusual artifacts, there's also three different wind charms hanging above in the trees. You can't see them in the pictures so just imagine delicate tinkling noises and the distinct rain forest sounds of bamboo chimes.
